Hsp90
This programme was initiated using Evotec's fragment-based drug discovery platform (EVOlution™) and has been partnered with Genextra and progress is confidential
Target and Target Class: Heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90); Enzyme (ATPase)
Indication: Oncology
Rationale
Inhibition of Hsp90 is expected to result in the concerted inhibition of multiple pro-oncogenic cellular signalling pathways. Due to its function as a molecular chaperone, Hsp90 is involved in protein folding and assembly and cell survival under stress conditions as encountered by cancer cells. Inhibitors of Hsp90 are proposed to play a key role in the treatment of various cancer types.
